Boat in the Sea

SURROUNDINGS

Our tiny house on wheels is located in a unique spot on camping it Soal (www.itsoal.nl) and is located in the Waterland region of Friesland. This southwestern part of the province is a wonderfully diverse area where you can enjoy a lot of water and land that always influence each other. The VVV has listed the best tips for you for Camping it Soal.

Eleven cities city of Workum. The campsite is located next to the Elfsteden town of Workum and has had city rights since 1399. A walk through this former old trading town takes you past beautiful stepped gables, gable roofs and the Grote of Sint-Getrudiskerk. Don't forget to visit the fountain, part of the 11fountains project.

Cycling, walking and sailing routes. You can't get enough of walking, but you don't want to keep going the same block? Do you want to drive kilometers with your bike? Row until you weigh an ounce? Do you want to empty the battery of your electric boat while charging your own battery? We are all outdoors people and they belong in nature. Forget the gym and come here to take your sporty selfies. In the woods, on the water, across the dike, along the Eleven Cities, we've got you!

Aquatics. The ultimate nature experience, the wind through your hair, the sun on your skin. Endless water plains or intimate ditches and canals. Waterland van Friesland the water sports paradise par excellence! Just a day of sailing with friends or a longer water sports holiday. Did you know that there are more than 350 free mooring places in Southwest Friesland? More than 50 can be found in the middle of the Frisian waters. If you moor at such a yellow-blue MarBoei, then that place is all for you alone. Surf and kite lessons can be taken or equipment can be rented on the beach in front of the campsite.

Kids. There is plenty to do in Waterland van Friesland for families with children. Sun, sand, forest and water provide enough variety. In rainy weather with boots to nature in or under the summer sun build a sturdy hut; everything is possible. Or how about a week sailing camp in Waterland of Friesland. Get your sailing diploma and make friends for life.

Culture and museums. It is no wonder that Fryslân and Waterland of Friesland are rich in cultural heritage. It is not without reason that Leeuwarden Fryslân was European Capital of Culture. And you will find that everywhere. From a small and intimate regional museum to large and UNESCO world class. Special encounters with the crafts of that time give color to Friesland and to your day and that of the (grand) children. Do not forget to bring the children, because there are special special routes and activities for them.

Eat Drink. Whether you like sweet, savory or something else, there is always a Frisian delicacy that you can enjoy. Ask the bakery for a delicacy such as an orange cake, dúmkes or sûkerbôle. Or try Frisian nail and sheep cheese from a local farmer or the Nylander cheese farm in Workum. Sometimes you will even find milk dispensers at farmers for tapping your own glass of milk. Do you prefer a Frisian beer? Then the beer brewery in Bolsward is something for you. Many restaurants here have such a delicious regional dish or drink on their menu.
